I Need Help

Are you in need of food or financial assistance? The Falmouth Service Center can help!

Please continue to check our website and our Facebook page for daily and/or weekly updates as we move forward. Our hours for the week will be posted every Monday morning on our website and we ask you to refresh your webpage to view the new hours.

We are now using a Client Choice system of distributing food.

  • Grocery items updated weekly, every Monday by noon, found on our front page.

  • Print the list from our website or complete list at FSC.

  • Park car in our parking lot.

  • Walk to check-in station (stand 6 ft apart with a proper mask), to receive food list.

  • Go back to car to complete food list.

  • Safely stand in line at check-in station to hand in completed food list.

  • Return to cars to wait for volunteers to complete orders. (There may be a small wait depending on the day)

  • Wait to hear order number called from a loud speaker.

  • Retrieve completed grocery cart from our volunteers and load own groceries into own cars.

  • Please return the shopping carts at the end of your orders.

  • We ask you to please wear a face mask while going through the line, in accordance to Governor Baker's orders at this time.

At this time, the Falmouth Service Center is doing our best to protect our clients, volunteers and staff.

What’s on Our Food List?

You will receive a list of grocery items that will be updated each week. There will be a list posted to the front page of our website, or you can complete a list at the check-in station when you arrive. The food items available each week will consist of:

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner items (ex. Cereal, juice, peanut butter, pasta, etc.),

  • Non-perishable items,

  • Milk,

  • Eggs (if available),

  • Other dairy items,

  • Meat,

  • Fresh fruit

  • Fresh vegetables,

  • Frozen fruit/vegetables,

These perishable items may change each week, depending on what we receive from the Greater Boston Food Bank. Your grocery bags will be put together by teams of our brave and willing volunteers. Any household in need can pick-up food once per week.

FSC is working hard to continue to provide this client choice food distribution for our clients every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, each week. This may change, depending on the ever-changing guidelines presented by our government during the pandemic.

If you or someone you know needs food, you can pick up food for the household once/week on the following days:

Tuesday: 10 am-12 pm
Wednesday: 3:30 pm-5:30 pm
Thursday: 10 am-12 pm
Friday: 10 am-12 pm

Our hours may have to change in the future, please check our Home page for up to date hours

In addition, we are continuing to offer financial assistance for Falmouth residents. If you have a financial question, please call us at 508-548-2794 to see how we may be able to help.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

How do I get food from FSC if I have never been a client?

  • At this time, anyone that is in need of food may come to our scheduled food distributions and complete a list of food items that they will need. We will ask a few questions (name, zip code, etc) on our order form and then we ask that you wait in your car until your order is ready. You will then be able to load your groceries into your own car.

Do you need volunteers?

  • We are currently taking volunteers at our Hand in hand Thrift Shop. Please feel free to submit an application- and note that you are looking to volunteer at our Thrift Store. We have temporarily suspended our volunteer training program at the Falmouth Service Center.

I am already an active volunteer and wondering what I should expect when I come in to help?

  • We are asking our current volunteers to come in to FSC wearing a mask (we have some available if you don't have one).

  • We will provide disposable gloves.

  • Volunteers will sign-in and record their temperature (taken at home before arriving).

  • Volunteer groups have been drastically limited in size.

  • We have placed markers on the floor (6ft apart) for some of our duties.

  • We ask that if you are experiencing any symptoms before arriving, to please not enter the building.

Can the virus be transmitted through food?

  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) are not aware of any reports at this time that suggest COVID-19 can be transmitted by food or food packaging.

Are you still accepting non-perishable food items?

  • We are not accepting them at this time. You can look to our website for other ways to donate.

What other programs are still operating at FSC?

  • We are currently offering our Home Delivery program for those already enrolled and providing financial assistance for Falmouth households in need. We are also scheduling fuel assistant appointments as well. We are conducting all appointments over the phone.

Will COVID-19 impact your food supply?

  • FSC's food supply has not been impacted and we are diligently working to maintain safe and dependable service. We are communicating closely with the Greater Boston Food Bank and will be in contact through our website or our Facebook page if anything changes.

How can I donate?
